Lake Superior Shawl
If you are looking for a shawl that will keep you warm while remaining amazingly soft in the shades of beautiful Lake Superior, you've found it!
This shawl was woven with my hand-dyed yarn that immediately made me think of the beautiful blue-green shades of Lake Superior and how they darken with its depths. With that in mind, I wanted to try a gradient style of this yarn that is 75% Superfine Merino (GOTS certified), 15% Yak, and 10% Cashmere. I warped my Kromski Harp rigid heddle loom with this beautiful yarn and then wove it with a mercerized cotton that has a lovely shine to it.
This shawl measures 63.5” long (without fringe) by 21” wide.
After weaving, the ends were twisted and the whole piece was heavily fulled to make it as cozy as it is gorgeous.
Please note the video shows the shawl BEFORE it was fulled. This item was woven in a pet-friendly, smoke-free studio.
