100% Shetland wool, handspun into a bulky weight yarn in a natural swirl of grey, tan, and white.

Shetland wool is known for being hard-wearing yet still soft enough for next-to-skin. It is ideal for sweaters, hats, and mittens/gloves. This bulky weight yarn is perfect for projects that you want to be both beautiful and neutral in color.

SOLD - Skein 1 is 4oz and approximately 90 yards in length. I measured this at roughly 7 wraps/inch, equaling a bulky weight yarn.

Skein 2 is 4oz and approximately 100yds in length. It is roughly 8 wraps/inch for a bulky weight yarn.

These yarns were all spun in a woolen style on a Schacht Sidekick spinning wheel. Please remember, these are handspun and there will be various textures and yarn weights throughout the skein. I do my best to accurately represent the overall size and nature of the yarn, but it will vary. If you are looking for a yarn that requires 100% consistency in size/texture, you might be better served by purchasing a mill/commercially spun yarn. As much as I would love for you to purchase by handspun, I want your finished product to be exactly as you hope it will be!

Note that if it is wound off into a ball it is NON RETURNABLE for any reason. The increase in cost is due to the extra shipping charges incurred as the yarn in a ball must be sent in a box rather than a soft-sided envelope.

Care instructions: To prevent extreme shrinkage and felting, handwash gently in cold water, lay flat to dry. Do not put in a dryer. Do not agitate vigorously in water. Do not ring out -- press flat to express excess water.
