100% Alpaca - From Fleece to Finished
From fleece to finished, this 100% alpaca yarn was made from the two alpacas we raised (once upon a time). Each skein was completely hand-processed with several washes - alpacas LOVE to roll in the dirt - and then carded on a drum carder to lightly align the individual fibers in preparation for a woolen spun yarn. Each skein was spun naturally and then crock-dyed, except for the beautiful fawn brown skein which was left natural. The dyed skeins are from our boy, Titan, and the brown from the youngest alpaca, Hermes. We no longer have these funny creatures; they were adopted by a lovely family in Olympia, WA when we received military orders to Illinois. I didn't think it would be kind to move them away from the mild climate of the PNW they'd been raised in.
Each dyed skein is 4oz and approximately 110yd for a medium worsted weight. The fawn brown is 5.5oz and approx 240yd, closer to a sport weight.
Skein 1: Peach color with a few spots of darker orange speckling from dye breaks. 4oz, approx 110yd, medium worsted weight.
Skein 2: Yellow with a few spots of darker orange speckling from dye breaks. I consider this a deep but true yellow. 4oz, approx 110yd, medium worsted weight.
Skein 3: Brick red with a few white spots where the dye did not take, presumably from the figure-eight ties to keep the yarn secured (no one wants tangled yarn!) while being dyed. 4oz, approx 110yd, medium worsted weight.
Skein 4: Dark Turquoise color with a few white spots from the figure-eight ties. 4oz, approx 110yd, medium worsted weight.
Skein 5: Natural fawn color. 5.5oz, approx 240yd, sport weight.
These yarns were all spun in a woolen style on a Schacht Sidekick spinning wheel, but the nature of unblended alpaca is rather limp in comparison to a crimpy wool that has a lot of spring to it. Alpaca is well-suited for projects that need drape rather than memory. Please remember, these are handspun and there will be various textures and yarn weights throughout the skein. I do my best to accurately represent the overall size and nature of the yarn, but it will vary.
Each hank is available for a wind-off service into a ball if you do not have a swift/winder at home. There is an additional charge of $5 for winding off and this service makes the yarn NON RETURNABLE for any reason.
Care instructions: Alpaca WILL felt. Handwash gently in cold water, lay flat to dry. Do not machine dry. Do not agitate vigorously in water. Do not ring out -- press flat to express excess water.

The photos of my yarns may be altered in an effort to best represent the colors, but due to variances in monitors/screens, please note that these are best representations and may appear differently in person. If you are not happy with the color (or anything else about the yarn), you may return it in NEW condition (still in the skein, not in a ball or partially used) at your own shipping expense within 14 days of receipt for a refund (minus shipping).

30 Day Retail Customer Return Policy
Customers are welcome to return SpinOlution product within 30 days of receipt for a refund minus shipping costs.
Items must be returned in like-new condition, with original packaging, and shipping insurance. Cost of return shipping is the customer’s responsibility. Please contact your dealer prior to sending your return so they can prepare to process your refund after the return is received. Any return which was ordered with Free Shipping is subject to the shipping cost being deducted from the refund. International Refunds will not include the cost of International Shipping. Upon receipt of your return it takes 5-10 business days to process your refund. The refund will be processed with your dealer. We will be unable to issue any type of refund after our 30-day guarantee has expired.

Exchange Policy
If you or your dealer accidentally ordered a non-compatible product, you can exchange it for the compatible product. Exchanges must be completed within 30 days of receipt. Items to be exchanged must be returned in like-new condition, with original packaging, and fully insured MSRP in case of damages.

One-Year Warranty
SpinOlution warrants all spinning wheels and parts to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of product receipt. This warranty covers all manufacturing defects and damage sustained during shipping when the product is drop shipped directly from SpinOlution.
This warranty does not cover normal wear parts, including but not limited to tension blocks, flyer pegs, and drive bands, or any damage resulting from misuse, improper maintenance, or unauthorized modifications.
If a customer disassembles their wheel and is unable to reassemble it, or if the wheel does not operate properly after reassembly, SpinOlution will repair the wheel and replace any necessary parts at no additional cost for labor under this warranty. However, shipping costs to and from the SpinOlution facility are the responsibility of the customer and are not covered under warranty.
SpinOlution reserves the right to inspect the product to determine whether the issue is covered under warranty.
Return Policy for Handspun and Handwoven Items:
You may return these items in new condition within 14 days at buyer’s expense. Items may not have been used in any way and must be in original condition. Items that are received damaged or if you receive an item that you believe is not as it was described, please contact me immediately. Buyer’s will be refunded all costs if the issue was due to seller’s error.
Handspun yarns that have been wound-off into a ball are INELIGIBLE for returns
Because photo colors do not always come across screens in perfect accuracy, refunds cannot be given for colors not being exactly as the buyer expected. If you order a pink hat and receive one that is green, that is a seller error, not a screen error. It is important to me that my customers are happy with their products, and I am happy to communicate with you throughout your purchase(s) to be sure you are happy with your products!
